Educational Research Institute of America (ERIA) conducted a pretest-posttest study to assess the instructional effectiveness of the HMH Math Expressions program in Grades 3 and 5 at three schools during the 2010–2011 school year. The results of this study showed that the Math Expressions classrooms made significant gains over the course of the four-month study. The results also show consistent evidence that the Math Expressions program is equally effective with students of high- and low-achievement levels.
