Robert Bowman

Robert Bowman has more than 25 years of experience as an educator and administrator. Currently enrolled in the doctoral program at Washington State University, Mr. Bowman is the principal of Harrison Middle School in the Sunnyside School District, a large minority-majority district with socioeconomic challenges. Bowman successfully took the struggling middle school of nearly 1,000 students and made significant gains in achievement. His actions have led the Washington’s Office of Public Instruction to recognize Sunnyside as a high-achieving district.

Besides leading Harrison, Bowman has written four children’s novels and is the author of Washington Interactive, a Washington state geography and history curriculum used throughout Washington state. Bowman’s work on growth mindset and grading has been highlighted throughout Washington and Education Service Districts.
