Monica Fitzgerald

Reading AIS Teacher, Gillette Road Middle School

Monica Fitzgerald has taught for 24 years in the North Syracuse Central School District. She comes with a wealth of experience, having taught K-3 and Reading Recovery, coached teachers in the classroom, and provided staff development in all areas of the Balanced Literacy Framework. In her current role, she teaches reading to seventh graders. She received her bachelor’s degree in inclusive elementary from Syracuse University a master’s in reading from SUNY Oswego. Her certifications include Elementary Education N-6, Special Education K-12, and Reading K-12.

In her spare time, she enjoys golfing, reading, and traveling. She loves her time volunteering for the Make-a-Wish Foundation and Honor Flight Syracuse.
