Dr. Bill McBride

Author-in-Residence

Dr. Bill McBride is a well-known international speaker, educator, and author. He is currently Author-in-Residence for HMH’s ELA programs and a consulting author on HMH’s Common Core literature program Collections. Best known for his novel Entertaining an Elephant, which has been made into a graphic novel for teens, he has also published Building Literacy in Social Studies and If They Can Argue Well, They Can Write Well, which shows teachers how to use classroom debate to teach research, critical thinking, and persuasive writing. Dr. McBride’s latest book is Inside the Text, a Tier 2 reading program for secondary struggling readers and intermediate ELs.
