Dionna Smith hails from Chicago, Illinois. She spent 22 years in the United States Air Force and traveled the world. Currently, she teaches at Thornton Middle School in Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District.

She loves reading, and her goal is to tap into that same love with every child who walks into her classroom. In the words of Dr. Seuss: "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose."
