CORE CURRICULUM
Angela N. Romans has spent over two decades as a leader in nonprofit and public sector organizations. She brings deep experience in leadership development, racial equity, and education access through her most recent roles as Senior Vice President of Programming at Say Yes to Education, co-Director of District & Systems Transformation at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University, and Senior Advisor on Education to Mayor Angel Taveras of Providence, RI. In her roles, Angela has developed and coached organizations and senior leaders in areas of strategy, governance, collaborative action, and diversity/equity/inclusion, and managed multiple, complex systems-change projects. She is recognized for her facilitative leadership style and systems thinking.
Angela began her career in teaching math and science in small, alternative public high schools in Boston and New York City and spent over a decade as a selective college admissions officer and academic advisor. She holds an S.B. in biomedical engineering and an Ed.M. in secondary math teaching and curriculum, both from Harvard University, and is an Annie E. Casey Foundation Children and Family Fellow. She joined the AchieveMission team in May 2019.
