HMH’s Center for Model Schools Announces New Esteemed Senior Fellows and Advisory Board Member; Partners with RocketPD to Engage and Inspire Educators

Newly established partnerships with education experts and leaders from across the country will aid in transforming districts nationwide 

BOSTON –  Learning technology company HMH today announced that its leadership consulting organization, the Center for Model Schools, has established new partnerships to advance the Center’s mission of supporting educational leaders and fostering meaningful change in school districts nationwide. This includes several additions to its distinguished cohort of Advisory Board members and Senior Fellows which are comprised of industry leaders, practitioners and trailblazers in K-12 education. The Center will also be partnering with professional learning organization RocketPD to expand access to expert-led synchronous and asynchronous professional learning.

The Advisory Board and Senior Fellows provide critical insight and feedback on the Center’s work and amplify its reach. The Advisory Board engages in the Center’s work as experts and thought leaders, providing valuable counsel on leadership development and contributing to the growth of education leaders and the Center as a whole. The Senior Fellows’ varied K-12 educational experiences and perspectives help ensure the Center’s services and strategies reflect the field of education today. 

Center for Model Schools New Senior Fellows:

  • Howie Knoff, Project ACHIEVE Educational Solutions

    Howie Knoff is an international consultant who helps schools and educators in the areas of social-emotional learning and social skills training, multi-tiered behavioral interventions and school improvement, and special education systems and innovative service-delivery.
     

  • Stephen Ritz, Green Bronx Machine

    Stephen Ritz is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning educator, author of best-selling book, The Power of A Plant and Founder of Green Bronx Machine which was recently named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies.
     

  • Eric Sheninger, Aspire Change EDU

    Eric Sheninger works with schools throughout the world, helping educators meet and exceed their potential to improve outcomes for learners. He is the founder and CEO of Aspire Change EDU, a collaborative consultancy designed to provide personalized support to all educational systems. 
     

  • Suzanne Petersen, Restorative Education, LLC

    Suzanne Petersen is a Restorative Practices Trainer, Coach and Facilitator with expertise in K-12 school implementation of restorative programs. She has been a professional speaker on Restorative Programs for the Virginia Department of Education and Washington Area Board of Educators. 

Center for Model Schools New Advisory Board Member:

  • Dr. Susan Enfield, Former Superintendent, Washoe County Schools District, Nevada and Highline Public Schools, WA

    Dr. Susan Enfield is the former Superintendent for the Washoe County School District in Reno, Nevada. Prior to this, she served as Superintendent for Highline Public Schools in Burien, WA for ten years. A former high school English, journalism and ELL teacher, Susan served as Chief Academic Officer and then as Interim Superintendent for Seattle Public Schools before joining Highline in 2012.

Along with the new Senior Fellows and Advisory Board members, Center for Model Schools is also partnering with RocketPD to immerse K-12 school leaders and their teams in an actionable framework for adaptive school transformation through a live-virtual cohort. Model School leaders and their teams are invited to register for a five part live-virtual cohort led by Center for Model Schools Managing Partner Dr. Joshua P. Starr. Over five 90-minute sessions, Starr will walk participating education leaders and their teams through an actionable framework for transformation. 

In addition to the annual Model Schools Conference, which is the nation’s largest gathering for rapidly improving K-12 schools and districts, The Center for Model Schools™ works shoulder-to-shoulder with school and district leaders to create the conditions for success so that every child is in the Model School they deserve.
